SKILL UP 2013, produced by Promote YT in partnership with Dundee Rep Theatre, presents an unparalleled programme of high quality training and facilitation delivered by leading practitioners.
Whether you are a freelance youth theatre practitioner at the start of your career, an organisation leader, or a drama teacher, we invite you to be enriched, inspired and advanced by a weekend of training and collaborative learning.

SKILL UP 2013 programme:

For SKILL UP 2013 we are delighted to launch a new and enhanced training structure. For the first time, SKILL UP participants will be able to choose from 2 themed training routes, including a CPD certificated route.

Route 1 (CPD certificated): Applying critical skills to your arts practice with young people
A focused training programme of 4 connected sessions.

  • This brand new programme option offers a unique opportunity to engage in focused learning and discovery relating to your own practice as a facilitator, maker and/or director in a youth theatre context.
  • Route 1 is particularly suitable for individuals with an interest in exploring their own practice and who want to develop critical skills to evaluate their work.
  • Participants in this route will receive a CPD certificate at the end of the weekend.

Route 2: Tools for collaborating with young people in the creative process
4 out of a choice of 6 workshops

In addition to 12 hours of hands-on professional development workshops, SKILL UP 2013 will include:

  • Dynamic daily warm-ups
  • Structured networking and informal socialising sessions
  • 2  x lunches and 1 x dinner with wine
  • An exciting new youth theatre performance by Dundee Rep Youth Theatre
  • A foot-stomping ceilidh

£140 for Promote YT members / £200 for non-members (bursaries and payment options available)
