Borders Youth Theatre (BYT) is a voluntary and registered charitable organisation, committed to providing high quality drama classes and opportunities for public performances, for young people aged 8 to 21, in the Scottish Borders. At present, BYT is running junior and senior weekly workshops in seven towns across he Borders, during school term times. BYT also runs intensive production weeks for juniors and seniors in the October half term holiday and Easter holiday, and a variety of summer holiday projects.
The Brunton Youth Theatre offers participatory activities and performance projects for young people aged between 8 and 18 years. With a base at the Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh, the youth theatre has a network of groups throughout East Lothian. The Youth Theatre members are invited to perform at local events as well as participating in national initiatives.
We meet on Saturday afternoons at the Performing Arts Centre, Stewart Melville College. Drama builds self confidence, encourages cooperation and collaboration, improves communication skills and concentration and frees the imagination. Through games, improvisation, voice, movement, devising, script work and performance - at Captivate Youth Theatre young people can enjoy all the benefits that drama has to offer and have great fun!
Currently wroking with group to improvise and develop scenes to be performed in a cafe setting. Aim to perform locally and then onto the Fringe and NFYT.
Dundee Rep Youth Theatre is part of Dundee Rep's Creative Learning Department and is for anyone aged between 5 and 19 who are interested in seeing, making and performing pieces of theatre. We believe process and product are of equal importance and aim to create excellent pieces of Youth Theatre whilst teaching theatre techniques and fundamental life skills such as self confidence, teamwork and communication skills.
Members enjoy access to professional theatre practitioners and artists and the opportunity to build toward performances both on the main stage at the Rep and in the community.
At EAYT we create an environment where young people feel comfortable and learn through positive experiences, constantly pushing the boundaries of youth theatre and always aiming to cover new and interesting ground. Participants will be encouraged to develop to their full potential through workshops, exploring movement, drama and dance and will be involved in creating their own plays and scripts with some of their work being performed on the Palace Theatre stage.
The sessions are jointly run by East Ayrshire Arts development team and Glasgow based theatre company Visible Fictions. Venues include the Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock, and Cumnock Town Hall.
Three terms of ten weeks (which follow the school terms) take place annually. Each term costs 40 pounds, there are discounts for second child places and limited free places for families who receive include support.
Weekly drama workshops and seasonal performances for anyone in East Renfrewshire or hereabouts aged 5-12. This includes a production company for 16-25 year olds and a 16+ group for people with additional support needs. We are based at Eastwood Park Theatre where many of our performances take place. P1 - P7 groups operate across the authority and the S1+ groups meet in the theatre when it is available or at a nearby community hall.
We aim to build confidence and creativity through strong ensembles and a fun, trusting atmosphere.
ECYT@IAC is a brand new Youth Theatre starting in Invergordon in January 2010. Based in the Invergordon Arts Centre and run by Out of Eden Drama Worker Amy Macleod, the new group welcomes 12 -18yr olds from all over Easter Ross and will start on Thursday January 21st at 7pm at a cost of 2 pounds per week. The group will run weekly throughout the school term and will work on all aspects of theatre including private and public performance material. We run on a project by project basis, delivering workshops and performance opportunities in theatre arts. These opportunities range from large scale musical productions to acting for film workshops.

Firefly aims to empower children and young people using drama and film making techniques to support their personal, social, learning and creative development.
Our key spheres of activity are Firefly Youth Theatre, Firefly Films & New Media and Firefly Education. Over 35 workshops are delivered across West Lothian & Angus on a weekly basis.
Our objectives are to deliver accessible and inclusive drama and film workshops and projects; create new productions relevant to young people and apply the youth theatre process within formal education.
We meet every Tuesday & Thursday 3.30-5.30pm at Portree High School during school term time. We work on small drama productions January-May and large scale musicals July-December with a 70 strong cast.
Junction 25 are a group of young people aged between 11 and 17 making
Contemporary Theatre and Performance works as part of the wider programme
presented at Tramway in Glasgow. Since forming in 2005, Junction 25 take part
in weekly workshops where they engage in a collaborative process of devising original
performances based on their own ideas and experiences. Most recently they have been touring the acclaimed From Where I Am Standing, a showin which they perform alongside their own parents in an
attempt to explore the dynamics of family life.

environment where young people can become involved in a process of engagement

enables them to produce exciting, important work that is relevant to them and

KEYT provides high quality Performing Arts workshops across Moray. All satellite groups' deal with issue based theatre; they devise, write, direct and produce all material with the support of local Performing Arts professionals. Members have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the production from writing to acting and lighting to costume. Workshops run weekly, with various opportunities to perform publically throughout the year.
KEYT want to push the boundaries of theatre, from a raw and honest perspective these young people deal with controversial but highly important issues.
We offer students a wide range of drama and performance activities including acting, dancing, singing, film and production. We create our own shows and performances, allowing students to experience all aspects of production. We currently have over 200 students aged between 3 and 19.

Mitchell School of Drama (aka Aberdeenshire Youth Theatre) was established in 1998 in Inverurie, running classes in acting, musical theatre, workshops and exam preparation. Productions have been varied, from reworking classics (Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream), commissioning new scripts and devising work by the company (Lottie, Our Scotland). They have enjoyed being part of AIYF for the last four years. Many former students are working professionally in theatre and television.
Phoenix Youth Theatre is a performing theatre school and classes will always build throughout the year towards a variety of performances, culminating in at least one major theatre production each year.
In our experience with children, we have found that working in theatre arts builds confidence while teaching discipline, co-operation and teamwork. We do not aim to create superstars (although there will always be those who are more gifted than others), but to induce a love and appreciation of the theatre and to develop skills which will aid our children to get through life.
We meet every Wednesday 3.30-5.30pm at Plockton High School, October to April. We regularly enter the Scottish Community Drama Association youth competitions at Easter and perform a Christmas extravaganza in December.
Project
Theatre is a community arts organisation which aims to promote community and
youth involvement in drama and theatre across the Falkirk
area by providing workshops and training, hosting productions and being
involved in community events. Membership
is open to all with an interest in drama whether performing, backstage,
scriptwriting or directing regardless of ability or experience.
The Re:Action Drama Group meets on Saturdays and runs over 4 terms per year. The focus of the group is on developing confidence and creativity in a safe and supportive environment. Participants receive tuition in a range of skills including voice and movement techniques, improvising, devising, scriptwork and acting for film.

The group meets on a project basis (usually 2 major projects per year). Skills workshops/development are included in the rehearsal process for major projects. The group employs highly skilled practitioners in key areas to facilitate the work/learning of the company. Older members of the company are encouraged to go through the Shetland Arts volunteering process and assist in the running of the group. The company has a reputation for highly innovative, quality theatre and has performed in Scotland, Finland, Germany and Denmark. The company is based in Lerwick but also has a satellite group on the island of YELL (YUF Theatre Shetland).
Strange
Town offer weekly classes for 8-10s, 11-13s and 14-18s. These take place at Out
of the Blue Drill Hall in Dalmeny

We
create new and original pieces of theatre and in the short time that we have
been in existence we have performed in a variety of venues in Edinburgh drawing large audiences. This work
has been met with great critical acclaim. Strange
Town is run buy a dedicated and highly experienced small team of workers and
volunteers. We
also offer holiday projects.
This group uses the theatre as a way to say what they think. We devise theatre on topics chosen by the group and offer participants opportunities to engage in other activities taking place in His Majesty's Theatre, The Lemon Tree and The Music Hall.

two teenage theatre groups performing theatre shows each year.

Creative
drama, mostly original and wide range of sing / dance styles in the
dance classes. Casting Agency opportunities. We offer tailor-made
teacher Training Courses and have a wide range of reasonably priced
drama lessons and plays.
The
group started about 4 years ago and have
done a number of things. The first was "Gregory's Girl" which was highly
successful. Since then, after a move of venue, we put together a play called "Cars" which is about joy riders and the consequences. The following year we
did some devised work, movement, dance and sketches. Last year we were involved
in Exchange 09 and took part in the week long festival with a devised piece
along the theme which was "Who are you?" We are currently rehearsing an evening
of theatre, poetry and dance for St. Andrews
Day.

Toonspeak Youth People's Theatre is a registered charity, based in the Royston area of Glasgow, Scotland. We provide drama and theatre opportunities and training for young people aged 11 to 25. Young people are at the heart of Toonspeak and make most of the decisions about the company and the artistic work. Toonspeak's work supports the regeneration of the local area and works to address problems of economic and social exclusion.
Tron Skillshops is the
Tron`s drama workshop programme for children and young people. Participants meet for fun weekly workshops
during school term time where they explore and develop a variety of devising
and performance skills. Participants in
groups aged 8-12 and upwards work towards creating their own annual production
for performance on the Tron main stage.
All participants have the opportunity to work with visiting theatre companies,
directors and actors and attend theatre performances as well as meeting new
