Promote YT @ Raising the Game
Colin and Caroline are just back from representing Promote YT at 'Raising the Game', in Darlington. The event, run by NAYT, is a-kin to SKILL UP, in that it provides practitioner training and networking opportunities.
This is the first year that Promote YT have attended Raising the Game; we were made most welcome and had a fantastic weekend.
Kicking off with not one but two YT performances, 'Sharpe Practice' by Jackass Youth Theatre, and 'Playing with my Heart' by Live Youth Theatre, it was a packed and productive weekend.
Highlights include, Sarah Brigham’s massive morning warm-ups (there were pretty much 100 people in there, ace fun!), and the 80’s themed dinner and disco. Caroline would like it noted that with her styling, Colin came 3rd in the costume competition, (Tutu, visor, and legwarmer combo!).
The opportunity to participate in workshops and activities rather than organising and programming facilitation was immensely refreshing. We made some great contacts, and came away with a plethora of ideas. Our presence at ‘Raising the Game’, was part of an on going relationship between NAYT and Promote YT, to support each other’s work, and share and develop practice. Photographs of the 80’s night will be sold to the highest bidder as an NFYT fundraiser.
