‘DYING FOR IT’ Resource pack
A practical Drama support aid exploring issues of sexual health and young people.
Cost: £55 (inclusive of postage and packaging)
This pack has been designed to explore sexual health issues raised in Scottish Youth Theatre’s successful and thought provoking play, ‘Dying for it’, by David Cosgrove.
“A provocative script – The response from the young audience was electric” TIMES EDUCATIONAL SUPPLEMENT
“There’s a sense that it comes from the heart of the brave but confused generation, to others who find themselves in the same troubled place” Joyce MacMillan, THE SCOTSMAN
The play was created through a collaborative process involving the playwright, director, sexual health specialists and actors from SYT Productions (age 16 to 25 year old performers). The play highlighted the steep increase in sexually transmitted infections in young people and focused on the social impact that these infections have on a group of friends.
Through a series of theatre games and drama exercises and techniques you can explore with your group key personal and social development themes of mutual trust, respect, self image, gossip, gender stereotypes and myths and preconceptions. Your group does not need to have previously seen the show as this offer includes a full storyboard of the play with character cards.
