UK Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur Award

UK Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur Award

UK Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur Award

The British Council's first UK Young Performing Arts Entrepreneur (UKYPAE) Award is now open for applications.

This award celebrates entrepreneurial young innovators and future leaders in the UK performing arts industry, offering finalists the opportunity to broaden their international experience by visiting an emerging performing arts market - in this case India.

They are seeking applicants aged between 25-35 who want to push the boundaries of the UK industry and have a vision for extending international business and cultural relations through the performing arts. Applicants can be from any area of the performing arts industry and they needn't run their own business as long as they can demonstrate their entrepreneurialism within another organisation. Applications are welcome from those working in either a commercial or a non-profit context.

Six finalists will travel to India towards the end of May this year to take part in a study tour of the Indian performing arts industry. On their return an overall winner will be awarded a financial prize of £5,000 to be spent on a joint project with the UK and India.

Deadline for applications: Monday 2 March 2009.
