SING AND DANCE THEIR WAY INTO THE INTERNATIONALLY
AWARD WINNING - BILLY ELLIOT THE MUSICAL
To celebrate five amazing years in the
Billy Elliot writer Lee Hall, together with Martin Koch (Musical Supervision and Orchestrations), have adapted their original script and orchestrations to produce a version of the show exclusively for groups around the UK staging local productions as part of Billy Youth Theatre.

As part of Billy Youth Theatre, selected productions of Billy Elliot
from around the country will be invited to perform excerpts from their
productions at showcases held at major regional theatres between April and June
2010. This will culminate with some
groups being offered the opportunity to follow in the steps of Billy and
perform at the Billy Youth Theatre West
End Gala at the Victoria Palace Theatre, Billy's
Malcolm J. Burnett, Artistic Director of LYAMC said "this is an amazing opportunity for LY and I'm really excited about being part of such a fantastic project. The show has provided the company with one of its biggest challenges to date, but they have all worked really hard over the last 3 months and I can't wait for the audiences to see the results on-stage"
Lee Hall, who originally conceived the idea behind Billy Youth Theatre, said: "I am delighted that young people around the country will have the opportunity to bring the story of Billy Elliot to life in their local communities with the help and guidance of our creative team".

In 2010 the National Theatre of Scotland brings Peter Pan home, presenting a brand new version of one of the most influential and magical stories ever told by a Scottish writer, in what will be the 150th anniversary of the birth of JM Barrie.
Directed by the National Theatre of Scotlands own Olivier
Award-winning John Tiffany and written by multi award-winning Scottish
playwright David Greig (The Bacchae, Midsummer, Yellow Moon) this Peter Pan
re-imagines the Darling family in Victorian Edinburgh, with Mr Darling working
as an engineer on the construction of the
John Tiffany will be reunited with Laura Hopkins (Designer), Gareth Fry (Sound Designer) and Davey Anderson (Composer) from Black Watch, and with Guy Hoare (Lighting Designer) from Be Near Me. Vicki Amedumue joins the creative team as Aerial Choreographer.
The production will feature sword fights, flying sequences, acrobats, illusions, the usual ticking crocodile and one great big hook.
Peter Pan is presented by arrangement with the Great Ormond Street Hospital Childrens Charity and Samuel French Limited.
The National Theatre of Scotland is
delighted to be entering into their first media partnership with Sky
Arts. As part of this partnership, a thirty minute documentary about
the making of the National Theatre of Scotlands production of Peter Pan
will premiere in high definition on Sky Arts 2/HD and Sky Arts 1/HD from the
beginning of May, throughout the productions tour, until 19 June. This
exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary will feature footage from the final
stages of the production, interviews with the creative team and look into the
world and legacy of JM Barrie, one of

The Lab will take place in the "Green Heart" of Austria -
Styria Region. Leitring bei Leibnitz is the beautiful town located
within 30min from Graz Thalerhof Airport. The programme will take
place at the historic 15th century castle.

Tramway's Family Days offer the opportunity for new and exciting contemporary arts experiences suitable for the whole family.
With free workshops and activities, Family Day is dedicated to making contemporary visual and performing arts accessible and exciting for all ages, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
Tramway has already hosted two visual-arts themed Family Days, which included explorations of Lara Favaretto's work in November 2009 and Duncan Campbell's documentary film in February 2010.
This third Family Day explores contemporary music. Tramway is filling the venue with strange sounds, unusual instruments and improvised music. The day will feature music suitable for under 4 year olds brought to you by Starcatchers (the people behind Sprog Rock) as well as some of Glasgow's most exciting experimental contemporary musicians.

"John Cage changed my life" Eric told us when he first contacted
Tramway... Eric explores improvised sounds and the use of silence with
various acoustic instruments, shortwave radio and his voice. Welcome to

The Silver Birch Band
The Hidden Gardens, 10am - 6pm
Can trees play guitar? Artist Stephen Hurrel has created this
installation to find out... How does the movement of the trees change the
sounds made by the guitars? Explore The Hidden Gardens to find out.
Jenny Soep

A visual artist that specialises in creating drawings during and
influenced by live performances, Jenny will be drawing the action
during the day. Meet Jenny and see some of her drawings upstairs

Exploring detail through repetition and layering, they work with many
small tape recorders. The recorders are not very good at recording and
playing back sounds. They distort the sounds and add lots of extra
noises to them. When many recordings are played at the same time,

Performance Technology is a 2nd year HND unit in Music Performance at
Stevenson College Edinburgh, led by lecturer J. Simon van der Walt. It
explores the creative mis/use of technology in musical performance. Or,
to put it another way, it is Simon's
messing-around-with-laptops-and-cool-stuff class :) Stevenson College

RED Ensemble

The RED Ensemble formed in autumn 2008. Each member was carefully made
from papier mache, painted red and left to dry. It is what happened
next that nobody counted on. Being made from papier mache, and living
in Glasgow, they thought that the rain would soon claim their lives. So
they made a pact to live in the moment and applied this to their music
through the art of improvisation. Welcome to our papier mache world...

Ug! play experimental improvised rock - no planning, no map, just

Guitar, live sampling, keyboards, vocals and more. 3 X 20 minute sets.
Jer Reid has been playing music for quite a while. He has met many
inspiring folk and had many experiences with what Mike Watt calls 'hymn
syncopating'. Dougal Marwick uses several existing sounds to make
various new sounds. His first ideas are more often than not his best
ideas. He is a Stadium Rockist, and 7VWWVW Number Three
